Former Sheriff's Office employee, wife sentenced in theft case

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A former employee of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was sentenced Monday morning in a theft case.

Michael Esposito will spend the next six years behind bars. His wife, Allison, will spend four years in prison.

Michael Esposito, a former supervisor in the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department Property Room, admitted to stealing various types of drugs and jewelry from the Sheriff's Property Room and distributing them to his wife and stepson, who would sell the drugs and jewelry and share the profits amongst themselves.

Michael Esposito pleaded guilty to 2 counts of Aggravated Trafficking (Felony 3), 1 count of Trafficking in Drugs (Felony 4), 1 count of Theft of Drugs (Felony 4) and 1 count of Theft (Felony 5).  

Allison Esposito pleaded guilty to 2 counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (Felony 3), 1 count of Trafficking in Drugs (Felony 4), 1 count of Receiving Stolen Property (Felony 4) and 1 count of Receiving Stolen Property (Felony 5).

Michael Esposito's stepson, Adam Fintak, was sentenced last week to two years in prison.

Both faced up to 10 years in prison.
