MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Police say the man responsible for the shooting death of an innocent bystander is now in custody.
According to the Montgomery Police Department, 38-year-old Albert Davis was taken into custody my an MPD patrol unit on Saturday, July 27 in the 800 block of Airbase Blvd. Davis has been charged with capital murder in connection with the July 9 shooting death of 23-year-old Alicia Scott.
Scott was shot to death while sitting on the porch of a residence in the Patterson Court housing project in the 900 block of Decatur Street around 6:15 that Tuesday night.
Scott was killed by a stray bullet from a shootout between several adult males.
Davis has been transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where is being held without bond.
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers say Davis' arrest was made possible by a tip someone called in to the organization. A $1,000 reward will be paid out within the next seven days to that person.
Scott's death is considered Montgomery's 30th homicide of 2013.
