CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police are closing down an OTR business on Wednesday that has been referred to as a 'hotbed' for crime.

The business was raided on Monday by officers looking for illegal activity.

Agencies conducted a search warrant at Professional Styles, at 1818 Vine Street on Monday afternoon.

CPD District 1 Commander Gary Lee District says the business was targeted due to some ongoing criminal activity at the location.

In fact, the shop was the site of a shooting back in late April.

Lee said at a press conference that the CPD is changing up the way they look at crime and they are now targeting locations that harbor or facilitate criminal activity, "Today's purpose was to put the neighborhood on notice that places like this won't be tolerated, not only in district 1, but anywhere in the city."

Police say the lengthy investigation led to the seizure of drugs, weapons and records supporting charges of alleged criminal activity from inside the business.

Lee says they did make some arrest but those charges are pending.

Police plan to place a padlock on the business Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
