2 seriously injured after Clermont Co. crash

MONROE TWP (FOX19) -

Authorities are investigating an accident Monday evening leaving two people seriously injured.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Cody A. Rose, of New Richmond, was driving a Dodge Neon westbound on Bether-New Richmond Road around 6:40 p.m.

Steven M. Chaney, 42, of Cincinnati, was headed eastbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a passenger, Maria A. Linfert, 47, also of Cincinnati.

Deputies say the motorcycle hit Rose's car when he attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway in the bike's path.

Upon impact, Chaney and Linfert were ejected from the motorcycle. They were both taken by air care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.

Chaney and Linfert were not wearing helmets.

Rose was not seriously injured and was wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators say alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Batavia Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol.
