FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ (CBS5) -

A suspected crook is still on the streets despite a massive search in a Fountain Hills neighborhood Monday morning.

Susan Dawson, 63, was coming home from her morning exercise when she walked in on a burglary in process. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says the suspect punched Dawson in the face then tied her up as they robbed her home of jewelry and cash. There is little information on the suspect.

"I did see someone running from her house's direction and going very fast," a neighbor said.

Dawson, a co-founder of a nonprofit pet rescue organization, suffered a broken nose.

"All she wanted to know is if I saw the dogs," Arpaio said. "Here's a lady in the hospital very concerned for her two dogs."

Dawson's pets were unharmed but according to her family, the suspect fractured her nose in two different locations.

"A victim of any kind of circumstance like that I think always lives with that," her daughter, Shannon Martinson said. "I don't think you can ever get rid of it."

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office held an all-out search of the area involving bloodhounds, helicopters and its SWAT team but the suspect was not located.

Arpaio says detectives are looking at all avenues to catch the thief; including a thorough look at anyone who may have done some work at the Fountain Hills home.
