CHICOPEE, MA (WSHM) -

F-15 fighter jets from the 104th Fighter Wing in Westfield will be temporarily relocated to Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee on Tuesday afternoon.

The relocation comes as the runway at Barnes Municipal Airport begins to undergo several months of repairs.

An estimated 14 F-15s will be parked on Westovers flight line. The F-15s will fly training missions out there for around six months.

The Air National Guard fighters are scheduled to fly on average twice a day so members of surrounding communities should expect to hear additional noise.
