Three arrested in Garden City church burglaries

A string of church burglaries has come to an end in Garden City, police say, after they arrested three suspects Friday night.

Jeremy Gauthier and Anthony Bloodworth, both 34, were charged with burglary. Crystal Chaltos, 36, was charged with theft by receiving.

Garden City Police say Gauthier and Bloodworth burglarized Jasper Spring Church, Primitive Baptist Church and Dean Forest Baptist Church on four separate occasions between July 21 and July 25, stealing a camera, a laptop, cash, checks, a church van and a Honda Pilot.

Investigators say a check stolen from Dean Forest Baptist Church and cashed at a bank in Hilton Head led them to the arrests.

All three suspects have lived in the same home in the 100 block of Garden City's Beasley Road.

Detectives are working to determine whether Gauthier and Bloodworth are responsible for a burglary over the weekend at Isle of Hope Methodist Church.
