Ariel Castro's son retrieves memorabilia before demolition

Anthony Castro and his family went back inside his dad's home for the very first time after his father Ariel Castro was sentenced to life in prison for holding captive Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight for ten years in his home.

Anthony tells our Scott Taylor the house is a mess. His dad is a hoarder.  

Scott Taylor asked, "What did you bring out of the house?"

Anthony Castro answered, "Primarily for me pictures.  I understand there are pictures we can't get yet but there were pictures in the house I was very happy to find."

Anthony was able to find a picture of his deceased mom as a young woman.  Mom also felt the wrath of Ariel Castro during their marriage.

Scott Taylor gave Anthony Castro a copy of his dad's 2004 confession letter where Ariel Castro comes up with an excuse for his violent behavior.  He writes, "Five years ago I was diagnosed with a cyst in my brain."

"I have always known him to be a private person.  So it doesn't surprise me if there were health issues but I didn't know about them," said Anthony.

Anthony says his dad is a control freak and it was on display at his father's sentencing when Ariel Castro looked right at Michelle Knight and said, "We had a lot of harmony in that house."

Anthony said, "I would imagine for him harmony means he is in charge. By this definition he had harmony when we lived there, too.  That's not how I see it or anyone else would see it."

Anthony does have a special message to the three women who walked out of his father's house in May.

Anthony said, "I don't want to do anything to upset Amanda, Gina or Michelle but I can say I think they deserve all the best life has to offer." 

Ariel Castro's house is scheduled to be demolished Wednesday according to the Cuyahoga County Land Bank.

As part of Castro's plea agreement, the Seymour Avenue house is be torn down.

Castro was sentenced to life in prison, plus 1,000 years, for kidnapping and sexually assaulting Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus while holding them captive in his Seymour Avenue house for over a decade.
