LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Over the past several months I've had a lot of requests from viewers for me to test out the 'Air Curler'.
You may have seen the commercial on television; it's supposed to allow ladies to curl their hair easily and quickly with the use of their hairdryer. Well, I found the product but it was a little hard for me to test it because I have short hair. So I asked one of our viewers who had requested the test to come into the station and test it out for herself.
The TV commercial for the 'Air Curler' says "now you can twirl a head full of curls in seconds with the Air Curler. The revolutionary new styling tool that creates the perfect curl every time!" Honestly, I had my doubts.
Once I took the product out of the box, I found that it has several parts, so it's essential to read all of the instructions at least once before trying to assemble. The main portion of the 'Air Curler' consists of a large plastic container that you attach to your hair dryer. It comes with an accessory that allows you to attach it to pretty much any size hair dryer.
It says to make sure your hair is damp prior to using the 'Air Curler', so my test subject, Chandra, wet her hair and the test began.
"I liked it," said Chandra. "If you use a little bit more hair it works really well."
She found that when just a small portion of hair was put in the 'bowl' to be curled, it doesn't work as well. She thinks one should have fairly long hair that will almost fill the bowl in order for the 'Air Curler' to really work.
Once our test was done, Chandra had nice curls in her hair. But how long would they last? We didn't get to find out because Chandra left shortly after the test. I would assume users of the product would probably see results last longer if they put hair spray on their curls after styling.
The final results would lead one to believe that the 'Air Curler' does work, at least for a short time. I will post follow-up reports to this product as I get them from viewers.
Please keep your 'As Seen On TV' product suggestions coming. You can send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
