EAST PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) -

City leaders and local law enforcement participated in a friendly game of softball on Tuesday to help better connect the East Price Hill community.

The event, called Pitching for Peace, included softball, food and some neighborhood comradery.

Organizers say it's a way to not only raise awareness about violence in the area, but also an opportunity for people to begin addressing the issue by connecting with others who share the concern.

Council member P.G. Sittenfeld, Cincinnati City Council candidate Kevin Johnson, 101.1 The Wiz, the Cincinnati Police Department and community and faith-based organizations all teamed up for the five-inning softball game.

Presentations on violence and other issues affecting the community were held by the Cincinnati Police Department District 3.

Pitching for Peace was held at Roberts Field on Grand Avenue.
