4C for Children a finalist in $108K grant award

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

4C for Children, a non-profit working to provide high-quality, early childhood education in the Tri-State, is in the running for a $108,000 grant award.

The non-profit is among five 2013 finalists chosen by Impact 100. The 4C project, School Readiness Matters--Early Intervention for Hispanic Children, is a finalist in the family focus area.

"If 4C receives an award," says 4C Parent Services Director Carolyn Brinkmann, "we will be able to launch a new outreach program for Latino families in five Greater Cincinnati communities."

The programming will include five 10-session training series for Latino parents, five six-session training series for informal Latino caregivers, individual coaching for these caregivers, as well as a public outreach campaign focusing on the importance of quality early education for Latino families.

Impact 100 works to improve lives by funding these grants to make a lasting impact in the community. Made up of local women philanthropists, Impact 100 will award two $108,000 grants this year. They will vote to award the two $108,000 grants on September 24.

4C was chosen from over 100 applicants as a finalist. Read more about the non-profit here: http://www.4cforchildren.org/

According to Impact 100, over $2.5 million will be given out to the local community by the end of 2013. See all of the 2013 grant finalists here: http://impact100.org/
