ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) -

His mug shot shows a man smiling from ear to ear, but authorities in Covington County don't find the matter very funny. Sheriff's deputies say Cedric Rahun Hollinger has a history of domestic violence, and he's under arrest again.

Law enforcement responded to a call Tuesday at a home on Paul Lane just south of Andalusia. When the officers arrived on the scene, they found Hollinger. The man then attempted to flee, but he was quickly taken into custody.

Investigators spoke with the female victim who was suffering from apparent head injuries. She and Hollinger have three children in common.

Authorities say their investigation found that Hollinger struck the woman with his fists and with a large wooden object. He's also accused of hitting an 11-year-old child as well as an adult neighbor.

The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was later released.

Covington Co. Sheriff Dennis Meeks said in a written statement that Hollinger was uncooperative with deputies and appeared to be under the influence of both alcohol and narcotics.

The suspect was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence in the 2nd degree for assaulting the mother of his children. He also faces a 2nd degree domestic violence charge for hitting the 11-year-old with a closed fist.

Investigators say the man may face additional charges as the case remains under investigation.
