HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A website that used to host news stories for a Valley college now features somewhat racier content. When entering the web address for the former site of the UAH campus paper, there is now a Japanese website in its place. A site translation tool found this website has some racy writing in place of university news.

If UAH students wanted to catch up on student affairs, typically they'd log on to chargertimes.org.  If you do that now, you'll find the news has moved out and a Japanese website has moved in, which sells sexy lingerie. Students and school officials were surprised by the discovery.

"I would think that I was on the wrong site," said freshman Michal Robertson.

"It was a little bit shocking to think that somebody would care about the domain name, and at the same time, we don't have a license to it, so it is what it is," said Dean of Students and Vice-President for Student Affairs, Regina Hyatt.

She said Chargertimes.org is not how news will be spread to students in the future.

"We are going through a website revision and transitioning the student newspaper on to the new URL, so we didn't renew the previous URL. At some point in the past couple of weeks it was brought to our attention this was done."

The new URL for the school paper will be chargertimes.uah.edu.  Hyatt said they are working to promote the new site so if Charger Times is Googled, their site will come up instead of the one for lingerie. The paper plans to have their first print edition on the 29th.
