Woman run over by cab after night out at Hillbilly Heaven

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Police say that an intoxicated woman was run over by her taxi driver after jumping out of the moving vehicle.

Middletown Police responded to reports of a woman jumping out of a taxi near the intersection of North University Boulevard and Woodlawn Avenue just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Upon arrival, police found that six friends summoned a cab to pick them up from Hillbilly Heaven bar in Middletown.

During the cab ride from the bar, police say that Brittany Tillery became involved in an argument with other passengers in the van. Tillery supposedly opened the sliding door to the taxi and jumped out while the taxi was heading south on University Boulevard. Police say Tillery was intoxicated.

Tillery's leg was run over by the taxi. She was transported to Atrium Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police discovered that two people who were with Tillery fled the scene after the taxi came to a stop. All other passengers refused to identify the individuals who fled.

Tillery's boyfriend, 26-year-old Justin Angel of Monroe, was arrested following the incident. Police say Angel was also intoxicated.  Angel was arrested for an $8,000 bench warrant through Middletown Municipal Court.

Tillery is being treated for her injuries.
