Wilbraham first responders rescue hiker

WILBRAHAM, MA (WSHM) -

First responders dealt with a medical emergency involving a hiker on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that the victim was able to call 911, but it was not easy to find him off of Peak Road.

Officer James Gagner walked through about a half-mile of debris left from the 2011 tornado and found the victim.

He was conscious, but needed to be carried out and taken to a hospital.

Police said the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
