BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green police have confirmed that a Toledo woman has turned herself in after being wanted in connection to a University of Toledo student's kidnapping and robbery.

According to police, Hui Zang, 23, turned herself in to the Bowling Green Municipal Court around 10:30 a.m. Monday with her lawyer.

She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

She will be back in court Aug. 28.

Zang was first identified by the Chinese exchange student as a possible second abduction victim, but she was later determined to have been involved in the online chat that convinced the victim he should go with her to Cedar Point.

Further investigation revealed that Zang had contacted several UT students on the Chinese language site in an effort to set up the kidnapping and robbery. While online, she portrayed herself to be a UT student in attempts to gain the trust of potential victims.

Zang was present in the vehicle when the victim was picked up and remained part of the incident during its entirety.

The incident remains under investigation and two other suspects have been identified and charges for them are pending.

Anyone with more information should call Bowling Green Police at 419-352-2571 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-54CRIME. You may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
