Hard Rock releases company's most recent polling results with 'yes' vote

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

According to officials, Hard Rock released that the company's most recent polling resulted with a "yes" vote.

Officials said the casino resort project in West Springfield had a dramatic bounce of support, now leading by a margin of 50 "yes"  votes to  41 "no" votes with 9 percent of likely voters remaining undecided.

The poll also provided unique insights into voter attitudes on the measure. Among the top voter considerations:

  • 74.9 percent of voters believe that the 3,000 jobs and the West Springfield hiring preference will benefit local residents.
  • 74.2 percent of voters believe that the $18 million in new revenue for the town will benefit schools, including art and music programs.
  • 71.9 percent of voters believe that local small businesses and employers will benefit from the $50 million in goods and services targeted by Hard Rock for purchase locally.
  • 69.8 percent of voters believe that the town will benefit from Hard Rock's $35 million in transportation improvements, including the rebuilding of Memorial Avenue and new direct access and improved roadways.

Officials said the poll, which was completed Aug. 16, had approximately 300 registered voters in West Springfield.

The poll measured voters for the likelihood of their voting in the Sept. 10 special election and reflects scientific demographic and geographic patterns in the community. The poll was conducted by Fallon Research, a national public opinion research organization, with offices in Columbus, OH and Washington, DC.

Hard Rock's Hotels and Casinos are located in resort destinations as well as urban gateway cities around the world.

The Hotels are designed to cater to the needs of today's multi-ethnic, modern travelers  for business or leisure travel.
