Mowing crews find partially decomposed body along I-75

KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Kenton County Police were called to a partially decomposed body found near southbound I-75 on Tuesday.

The body was found near the side of the highway close to the truck weigh station in southern Kenton County. The weigh station is located at mile marker 168.

Police tell FOX19 that mowing crews were working in the area early Tuesday morning when they came across something suspicious. A man in the maintenance crew saw what he thought was a body near the wood line and called police.

Police later confirmed that the suspicious finding was a partially decomposed human body. Authorities say the sex and age of the body have not been confirmed but suspect the person was an adult female.

Police are currently treating the location as a crime scene. The coroner was called to the scene and will perform an autopsy to find out more information.

Police say that no reported missing person in Kenton County matches the body's description.

Little information has been released. FOX19 will continue to update the story as details become available.
