UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Union police said a man is recovering after another man hit him in the head with an ax on Saturday because he was upset about something that happened 20 years ago.
Police said they were called to the hospital to speak with the victim, who had a large cut above his left eye, after he said he was attacked.
According to the police report, the victim was at a friend's house when another man stopped by and was upset with him about something that happened between them in 1993.
The victim said he ignored the man, identified as 36-year-old John Brandon, but Brandon then hit him in the head with the end of the ax, according to police.
Brandon was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
The report did not say what happened in 1993 to upset Brandon.
