PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A man was killed when he was ejected from his pickup truck when it rolled on the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near 40th Street early Friday morning.

The approximately 50-year-old man was not wearing a seat belt and had no identification on him, said Sgt. Michael Canjuma of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The victim was ejected through the passenger side of the window after the truck struck a guard rail, Canjuma said. He died at the scene and suffered severe head trauma, Canjuma said.

The crash about 1:50 a.m. closed the 40th Street exit, two eastbound lanes and the shoulder of Loop 202.

All were reopened later in the morning and traffic was flowing normally.

Canjuma said there was no evidence of impairment.
