KENTWOOD, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects responsible for stealing the air conditioning unit from a high school.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said the theft happened at Sumner High School in Kentwood. It is believed the unit was taken last week.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards said the 7.5-ton unit and the copper pipe is worth about $7,500.

Detectives are going through surveillance video in hopes of identifying the thieves.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-5245.
