LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police say a number of tips have led to the arrest of a home burglary suspect.

Austin Jones, 23, has been identified as the man seen on the homeowner's security cameras. Metro says investigators contacted Jones by telephone on Aug. 31. He surrendered to authorities later that day.

Jones has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of burglary and violation of the condition of a suspended sentence.

The depiction, which was recorded through Ed Vidal's home surveillance camera, went viral in a matter of hours after he posted it on Facebook.

"It's just right there, he's right there," Vidal described the suspect in the red shirt entering through a window. "You've got the car. You've got the guy."

In an interview with FOX5, Vidal said the suspect went straight to the home's master bedroom and into a closet. Vidal said the suspect was going after jewelry.

According to the homeowner, he found he had been burglarized when he came home with his two young daughters and saw his back window open.

"Basically, [he] went around the entire house and made sure nobody was here," Vidal said. "I just jumped to my camera [after the discovery]."

Vidal's Logitech Alert cameras cover Vidal's driveway and his living room.

Once Vidal had the video, giving it to police was not good enough. He wanted the video to go viral. He posted it on Facebook, asking for everyone's help identifying the suspect.

"My logic was if I'm waiting for the cops to do their job, I can do my job and get the community involved," Vidal reasoned.

As of Friday, the video was shared more than 21,000 times.

"The response was very supportive. They were more than willing to help," Vidal remarked. "It just proved how Vegas comes to people's aid."

In a final message to the suspect, Vidal says, "Look up, man."

According to the Facebook post, the incident happened about 9 a.m. on Aug. 29 in the Spencer Street and Pebble Road area.

"Fortunately, he was too stupid to realize we have cameras in the house," the post says.
