MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Officials say the Bellwood shopping center in Montgomery is being redeveloped.

The strip mall at the corner of Bell and Vaughn Roads originally housed a Bruno's grocery store but after it closed, the area became deserted.

The shopping center is now being redeveloped and the target is a specific group of shoppers. Some say the new additions are turning the shopping center into a little Korean town. Wings N' Things, a Korean hair salon, Do-Re-Mi karaoke club and the G-Mart International Market is moving into what used to be the Bruno's building.

Owners say they are trying to prove that this location can still be successful.
