EDWARDSVILLE, KS (KCTV) -

Crews have a recovered a body during their search for a missing fisherman in the Kansas River.

The Kansas City, KS, Police Department was notified about 12:45 p.m. Monday that a body had been found in the river near the Turner Diagonal boat ramp.

Two men went fishing early Sunday morning near Interstate 435 and Woodend Road when one of them noticed his friend was missing after going into the river.

Crews searched the area all day Sunday but couldn't find the missing man and returned Monday to continue the search.

Authorities are still working on positively identifying the victim and notifying has family.
