Students remember friend with Twitter campaign

Shelby Augustyniak Shelby Augustyniak
OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Students at Cardinal Stritch High School are paying tribute to a classmate in a unique way.

Shelby Augustyniak died in her sleep Saturday night. She was 17 years old.

"She was just always so bright and cheery and happy," said Father Eric Schild, president of Cardinal Stritch. "She made everybody else's day bright."

Her friends remember her as friendly and outgoing, and a big Justin Bieber fan. Now they're trying to get the pop singer's attention on Twitter with the tag #Justin4Shelby.

"It wasn't even like we wanted his attention, we wanted everybody's attention," said Maddy Niehaus, a junior. "We just wanted Justin Bieber, himself, to notice how much Shelby really loved him, and wanted him to know that she loved him ‘til she died."
