Mercy Health employees rolled up their sleeves Friday to volunteer across the Tri-State, in partnership with the United Way.

Volunteers painted, cleaned and provided landscaping at shelters, orphanages and neighborhoods that could use a helping hand as part of Mercy Cares Day.

Participants made workbooks for children at Child-Focus Incorporated and provided clean up services at the private homes of several senior citizens in Clermont County.

In Central Cincinnati, volunteers spruced up the corner of Erie and Murray Avenue in Madisonville along with the Madisonville Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.

The Geiger House Shelter site in Walnut Hills was painted, which provides emergency services to individuals and families in crisis. On the city's west side, volunteers helped children with homework and did some landscaping work at the St. Joseph Orphanage.

In Hamilton, the social service agency St. Raphael was painted and organized, which focuses on stabilizing the lives of those experiencing crisis.

Mercy Health provides a network of caregivers and services at more than 100 locations across the region.
