ANNISTON, AL (WBRC) -

Police have arrested and charged two people with the stabbing death of an 89-year-old woman.

Alma Flemming was found dead Wednesday morning at her home on Stebbins Street where she lived alone. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown tells FOX6 News Flemming died from multiple stab wounds and was likely killed Monday.

Anniston Police have charged Walter Pinkston and Monica Shively with capital murder. The two were arrested at the State Trooper post in Jacksonville after attempting to renew Flemming's driver license, according to Capt. Allen George of Anniston Police.

The couple apparently did yard work and other jobs from Flemming, Capt. George said.
