DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Decatur teen was arrested Tuesday night for the shooting of another Decatur man at a cheer academy.

Decatur police said Jaylen Williams, 18, was charged with assault and will be taken to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.

The shooting happened at Southern Spirits around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police found Daryle Lamonica Mosley, 42, with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Mosley told investigators he knew the alleged shooter, who was seen getting into a dark-colored car headed on Central Parkway toward Beltline Road. A patrol officer in the area saw the car turning onto Beltline Road and stopped it.

Williams was inside the car and taken to the Decatur City Jail.

Mosley's wound was not life-threatening.
