BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary and theft investigation originating from Orlando, Fla.

Police say Daniel Hagemeister, 32, and Jason Claybaugh, 43, committed several burglaries and car break-ins in the Orlando area before coming to Birmingham and doing the same thing. The pair then made several transactions at pawn shops in the area.

Officers found them at the USA Economy Lodge on Crestwood Boulevard, along with several items that had been reported stolen.

Both suspects are in the process of being extradited to Orlando. Police say Hagemeister is from Denmark, Wisconsin and Claybaugh is from Pennsylvania.
