Fire damages Huntsville apartment

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that damaged a unit at a Huntsville apartment complex early Thursday morning.

The fire started around 1 a.m. at the Jackson Square Apartments on Triana Boulevard.

Firefighters said another tenant called 911, saying an apartment across the complex was on fire. Firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from one unit. They were able to put the fire out in minutes.

According to firefighters, the living room suffered fire damage. The entire unit suffered smoke damage and is unlivable. One person has been displaced.
