MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Thursday afternoon Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard and Representative Ken Johnson will stop in Trinity to talk jobs.

Both lawmakers will discuss the closure of International Paper. They'll also focus on how to recruit new jobs to Lawrence and Morgan Counties.

International Paper is Lawrence county's biggest employer. Officials with IP said the demand for paper has declined and is the reason for the plant shutting down.

In March, International Paper is set to close for good and 1,100 workers will lose their jobs.

Thursday's meeting starts at 2 p.m. at the Jack Daniel's Cooperage in Trinity.
