Shelby County authorities are investigating more than a dozen vehicle burglaries that happened overnight.
The crimes happened between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 and 6 a.m. Thursday along Highway 280 in northern Shelby County.
The Sheriff's Office says so far this year they have received reports of 151 vehicles being burglarized. In almost every case, the vehicle was unlocked.
The most common items reported stolen include cell phones, guns, laptop computers, checkbooks, GPS devices, credit cards, jewelry and cash.
The Sheriff urges citizens to always remove valuables from vehicles, especially overnight, and to lock the vehicle's doors.
