Here's what we're working on in the WAFF Newsroom:
We have news out of Walker County from overnight. The mayor of Carbon Hill is in custody this morning and faces almost a dozen charges related to sexual misconduct. WAFF's Muriel Bailey will be live beginning at 5AM with the details of the charges he faces.
WAFF reporter Lauren Morrison is looking into an issue that could affect Alabama's coal industry. Today the U.S. House is expected to formally announce new rules on coal power plants. They would force plants to install expensive technology to capture carbon dioxide and bury it underground. Experts say these limitations would reshape the way Americans get electricity. http://bit.ly/1bv64rX
Remember to stop in and join us before you head out the door for all the news you need to know for the day. Also, Lauren Jones will have your weekend forecast, which includes a little rain.
Have a wonderful day!
