Several people in Covington County are under arrest on drug-related charges.

Thursday morning, DTF agents arrested Jeremy Gardner on warrants for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to Elude Law Enforcement as well as on new charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After receiving information from a good citizen that Gardner was at a residence on Plywood Mill Road, DTF agents went to that residence and found Gardner hiding under a storage shed with a loaded Action 17 caliber rifle. Gardner is now in the Covington County Jail on a bond of over $1,000,000.

Over the past several days, 10 individuals along with Gardner have been arrested in connection with this investigation. Those individuals are: Heather Strickland for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; Christopher McBride for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jessie Ray "Bo" Henderson and Chandler Fowler for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; Alice Burgess for hindering prosecution; Chelsea Shreve for possession of a controlled substance, possession of Marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and hindering prosecution; Sabin Shreve for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, hindering prosecution and violating probation; Robert "Kenny" Weaver of hindering prosecution; Ralph Otis "Buddy" Bryant  for possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering prosecution.

Drug dealers prey upon people's weaknesses, and they leave nothing but destruction in their wake. There s nothing glamorous about addiction, and certainly not about going to jail. Jeremy Gardner ran in the woods and hid rather than face the consequences of his actions, but we found him and everyone who helped him. It cannot be emphasized enough: If you are Out there dealing drugs, we will find you.

I want to thank the Covington County Sheriff's Office and Posse, Conecuh County Sheriff's Office, District S ABC Board, River Falls Police Department, and Andalusia Police Department, for their assistance. And on a personal note, I want to extend special thanks to Sgt Jeff Daniel and the agents of the Drug Task Force for their hard work and dedication.
