MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A man stepped in to stop attempted robbery in Moores Mill Friday afternoon, but was injured in the process.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the Vulcan Discount Gas Station, commonly known as Moores Mill Grocery Friday. The clerk told deputies a man tried to rob the store by reaching over the counter to get cash from the register, assaulting the clerk in the process.
Another employee in the store tried to intervene and was stabbed once in the abdomen with a knife. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The robber fled the scene without any cash. Deputies are still looking for the offender, who they said drove off in a black Nissan Maxima.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing white painter pants, red short-sleeve shirt and a Denver Broncos cap.
