FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) -

The nine terrorists who opened fire on an upscale shopping mall in Kenya reportedly include a Kansas City native.

The militant group Al-Shabaab tells CNN the names of the 9 attackers. One of those is a 27-year-old man from Kansas City.

KCTV5 has not independently confirmed the man's identity. CNN reported that the other attackers hail from Minnesota, London, Canada, Finland, England, Somalia and Kenya.

Dozens were killed and hundreds injured when the gunfire began Saturday. Reportedly about 30 were being held hostage and an assault has begun to end the situation.

Westgate Mall is partially owned by Israelis. The terrorists reportedly spared those who could recite a Muslim prayer or could answer questions about Islam.
