BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A Birmingham woman woke up Monday to bullet holes all over her house, even in the bedroom where she was sleeping.

Veronica McHoward says it's not uncommon to hear gunshots in her neighborhood. She just didn't think they would literally hit her home.

McHoward said she went to go lay down around 2 a.m. and around that time she said she heard gunshots. She checked the front and back of her house and didn't see anything, so she went back to bed.

It wasn't until she woke up Monday morning to take the trash out that she noticed the gun shot bullets inside her home.

"They came through this room from my porch. My den and then it penetrated through those walls to my bedroom, the next room, that's my bedroom and it penetrated through my bedroom," McHoward said.

Thankfully, no one was injured inside her home.
