TRUSSVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

An off-roading accident killed a Trussville teen over the weekend.

The St. Clair County Coroner's Office said 13-year-old Brayden Joseph Turner had been riding with six other people on an ATV Saturday night in the Carrington Lakes subdivision.

Authorities say the ATV overturned, killing Brayden. A nine-year-old rider was hospitalized with a broken leg.

According to social media sites, Brayden was a student at Hewitt Trussville Middle School.

Lisa Berry, principal at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School, released this statement today:

"We are experiencing the loss of one of our 7th grade students. We have systems at the middle school to help students....I talked with our teachers over the weekend. They are working with parents and teachers."

There is no word yet on funeral arrangements.
