Teen escapes, flags down officers after attempted sexual assault

AIKEN COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A 14-year-old managed to escape from an Aiken County man who was attempting sexually assault the teen, according to the Aiken County Department of Public Safety.

Officers arrested 43-year-old Christopher A. Key on kidnapping and an attempted first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor charges.

Investigators say Key approached the teen around 10:15 p.m. Sunday night near Highland Park Drive and Palmetto Lane and held her against her will while trying to assault her.

The girl got away from Key and flagged down a nearby officers, according to a news release.

Key was found several minutes later and arrested.
