Cavs men blast Andrew, Lady Cavs earn forfeit win

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Darton State (men) 7, Andrew 0

The Darton State Cavaliers soccer team made it five straight victories with a 7-0 shutout over Andrew College Tuesday.

The Cavaliers stayed on the offensive, using quick ballwork and forcing turnovers in their half to keep the pressure on the Tigers.

Darton led 3-0 at the half, and cruised to the 7-0 win.

Up next for the Cavs is Jefferson College. That game is Saturday at Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody.

Darton State (women) 5, Andrew 0

It probably wasn't the way he wanted to earn it, but Lady Cavaliers head coach Ken Veilands picked up his 224th career victory Tuesday night, tying him for most all-time in Region 17 history.

The Lady Cavaliers earned the 5-0 win after Andrew was forced to forfeit.

The Lady Tigers were only able to suit up the game-minimum seven players.

Darton built up a five goal lead in fifteen minutes, when an Andrew player went down with an injury.

The Lady Cavaliers travel to Lakeland, FL Saturday to take on Polk State.
