PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

A man and his wife have been arrested in connection with a string of robberies in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Gilbert police say Luke Broeker, 30, and Shannon Broeker, 27, were taken into custody Tuesday at a Mesa motel.

The two are suspects in a string of 10 robberies since August, said Gilbert police Sgt. Jesse Sanger.

Five of the robberies were businesses in Gilbert with three others in Mesa and two in Chandler.

Shannon Broeker reportedly was present for many of the robberies along with the couple's four sons ranging in age from 1 to 6, Sanger said.

Some of the businesses hit were Walgreens, Frys, 7-Eleven, and Goodwill.

They said the couple is facing multiple counts of robbery along with charges of having children with them at the time of the alleged crimes.
