SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said a school bus driver was charged Wednesday after hitting a parked car twice and leaving the scene on Sept. 5.
 
Valeri Williams, 50, was charged by Traffic Unit officers who investigated.
 
Police said Williams was driving a 2001 school bus owned by First Student and was taking students to school. At about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, she drove into the Fenwick Village apartment complex, struck a parked car and hit the car again when she backed up, according to police. She drive across a grassy area in order to leave the area.
 
She is charged with hit-and-run and leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain her lane and reckless driving.
