PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Three undocumented immigrants were arrested and five pounds of methamphetamine seized during a surveillance operation at a west Phoenix home.

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies approached the home in the 6500 block of W. Riva Road Tuesday, all the suspects under investigation fled.

Deputies were able to apprehend them a short time later.

A search warrant was served on the residence, where the drugs were found.

The suspects admitted that they were in the country illegally, MCSO said. They also confessed to transporting the seized drugs across the U.S. border with Mexico, according to sheriff's deputies. 

The suspects are: Jose De Jesus Manjarrez-Cruz, 21; DOB:  Miguel Antonio Ramos-Ramirez, 40;  and Armando Zazueta-Vega, 22. 

The trio was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs for sale and conspiracy - dangerous drugs for sale.

They are being held without bond.
