The Navy-Air Force game is officially on for this weekend, and so is the Army-Boston College game.

According to a release on the US Navy Sports website, "The United States Naval Academy and United States Air Force Academy have received approval from the Department of Defense to play on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium."

All other varsity and club sports will remain suspended due to the government shutdown. The Associated Press reports the Defense Department said everything except the big game is on hold through Sunday.

The academies received the go-ahead to play because the game is not funded by the government. A sellout crowd is expected. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:40 a.m. and the game will be televised by CBS.

Navy enters Saturday's contest with a 2-1 record, while Air Force is 1-4.  The winner of the last 13 Navy-Air Force games has gone on to win the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy.  Three of the last four Navy-Air Force games have gone to overtime.

Thursday afternoon, Army announced it will also play its game Saturday against Boston College. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
