WESTFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The Westfield State Board of Trustees is considering suspending school President Evan Dobelle over his questionable spending habits.

According to our media partner masslive.com/The Republican, the trustees are considering moving an Oct. 24 meeting to Oct. 16.

The board will be going over Dobelle's spending habits that have been the center of controversy.

Dobelle has admitted he mixed personal and business spending on the Westfield State Foundation's tab.

Meanwhile, he has asked for a four-day extension to explain his spending to top state education officials.

They wanted him to explain by Thursday afternoon.

Those officials have told the Board of Trustees to consider disciplining the president.

Dobelle has said he has no intention of stepping down.
