Deputies search for suspect in hit-and-run near Belterra

SWITZERLAND CO., IN (FOX19) -

The Switzerland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a vehicle involved in a hit and run last month on State Route 156.

Authorities say the victim was walking along the highway during the early morning hours of Friday, September 21. The victim was hit by the vehicle while walking from Belterra Casino towards the Markham Dam.

Switzerland County deputies say the person was injured and the vehicle did not stop. A description of the vehicle was not available.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Brian Morton or Deputy Dave Davenport at (812) 427-3636.
