NORTH OLMSTED, OH (WOIO) -

In North Olmsted on Hastings Dr. it's not hard to see who the majority of people are supporting for mayor. Tom O'Grady yard signs are everywhere.

That's not a huge surprise though, because he lives on that street. The only home on the whole block supporting his opponent is one four doors from O'Grady's home and it has a Kevin Kennedy sign and that home also has a security camera.

Last Sunday it captured O'Grady, who pulled the Kennedy sign up and walked it up to the front door of the home.

Amanda Cairns lives there, and had the sign put there.

She told 19 Action News Reporter Dan DeRoos how the encounter played out.

"I go to the door to find Mr. O'Grady at the door waiving a brochure at me and telling me that Kevin Kennedy has deceived me, betrayed me on so many levels," says Cairns.

Upset that the sign was removed the video shows Amanda taking it back to replace it. O'Grady is right behind her.

We wanted an explanation so went to O'Grady who does not deny it's him in the video.

"The reason I took the yard sign out is because I thought they had been punked," said O'Grady. "I took the sign to the front door this is ridiculous."

Amanda's husband, John and his friend can be seen in the footage getting involved. The Cairns say O'Grady was abrasive and they had to asked him several times to leave the property.

"I walked down the driveway and said stop yelling at my wife he's leaning over her the top of her berating her," claims John Cairns. "I said get off my property and turned away."

"If somebody has to ask you to leave their property and stop berating his wife?" DeRoos asked O'Grady at his home Friday night.

"Bologna it didn't happen," was O'Grady's response.

"They never said that?" DeRoos asked.

"They never said that, it never happened, that's a flat out lie," said O'Grady.

The footage has no audio so not sure who's telling the truth.

We just had to ask O'Grady, who was North Olmstead's Mayor from 2005 to 2009 and now trying to get his job back, why in this day and age would you ever touch someone's yard sign?

"In the future will you ever touch anyone's yard sign?" DeRoos asked.

"Heck no. I had no idea all of this would happen. I will defiantly go knock on the door and say are you aware," O'Grady explained.

"Shouldn't you have done that first," asked Deroos.

"In retrospect yes," answered O'Grady.

John Cairns is responsible for putting the video on Youtube.

"It doesn't matter who wins the mayoral race, doesn't matter," said Cairns. "Bullying. We just got bullied and we just put it out there. That needs to stop. Someone needs to stand up, I did."
