ELBA, AL (WSFA) -

An inmate who escaped in Elba Sunday is back in custody after a standoff in Enterprise.

Enterprise police say Rodney James Hall, 51, barricaded himself in a trailer in the 200 block of Private Road 1508 in Enterprise Monday afternoon.

Hall surrendered after an hour and a half of negotiations, according to a news release from the Enterprise Police Department. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail.

Just before noon Sunday, Hall was unaccounted for during a bed roster count at the Elba Community Based Facility.

Hall was classified as a community custody inmate and was allowed potential employment outside the facility, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

He was serving a 25-year sentence for 2004 burglary and theft convictions out of Etowah County.

Hall was denied parole Wednesday and rescheduled for a hearing in September 2015. His expiration of sentence date is scheduled for January 2029.
