The separation agreement stipulates that Thompson will receive a one-year payment equal to her base salary ($155,000).

Thompson will also be reimbursed for moving expenses up to $10,000 should she decide to leave Montgomery.

As part of the agreement, neither Thompson nor MPS or its Board members will make disparaging remarks about the other.

The agreement was signed with no admission of liability or wrongdoing by either Thompson or MPS.

The agreement was signed by Thompson with a date of October 5. It was signed by MPS Board President Eleanor Dawkins on Oct. 7.

Thompson resigned last week from the position she's held as superintendent for the last four years under pressure from a majority of the MPS Board.
