8-year-old decorates bald head to protest bullying

SENECA COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. People around the country are joining the fight against bullying, including one inspiring 8-year-old from an elementary school in Seneca County.

Oct. 9 is Unity Day, which encourages supporters to wear orange offering support and education about bullying.

Kristen Stock is so proud of her confident daughter, Karahgan. Even though "Karah" is bald, she stands up to bullying every day as a second grader, with an attitude that she can change the world.

Karah lost her hair when she was 3 and diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, which is an autoimmune disorder that mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing hair to fall out. 

In an effort to stand up to bullying, Karah decorated her head with inspiring quotes, like "Love yourself," and "Be kind," plus the national website to stop bullying.

A small spirit determined to make a big difference, we can all learn something from brave Karah.
